Denise Maple founded Live Life Spiritual Direction in 2018 when she became a licensed spiritual counselor to assist clients to identify and overcome false beliefs about themselves and the world for a more expanded and joyful experience of life. From there, her practice grew to incorporate Reiki energy healing and business coaching. She became a Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois Gies College of Business in August 2019. Prior to that, she was the US Region Head for Commercial Banking Training and Development at CIBC. In this role, she headed up a program that develops, trains, and manages entry-level credit analysts, while also providing continuing education to experienced commercial bankers.
Prior to joining CIBC in 2012, she was Founder and President of VaVaVroom, a women’s motorcycle and scooter apparel business, as well as Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Columbia College Chicago. She also spent 17 years at LaSalle Bank Corporation (now Bank of America) where her roles included commercial lender to middle-market and large corporate companies, business manager to the CEO, lead consultant and manager in corporate development, various roles in training in Chicago and Amsterdam and eventually running the bank’s credit training program for all entry-level credit analysts for the LaSalle/ABN AMRO Americas region.
Maple received her undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.B.A. in Finance, Marketing, and Organization Behavior from Northwestern University. She currently serves as a member of the President’s Circle of the University of Illinois Gies College of Business Alumni Association, a Whitewater Grocery Co. (co-op) volunteer financial analyst, and as a member of RMA’s Professional Development committee. She is also a life coach certified by Clear Inner Focus.
Denise’s uncommon blend of spiritual training with a deep financial and entrepreneurial background allows her to assist individuals and business owners to reach new heights and live the song of their soul in both work and play.
