Feeling Off Track? A Mid-Year Reset for Mind, Body, and Spirit

As we move through June, we’ve officially reached the halfway point of the year. For many people, this can bring a mixture of emotions. Perhaps you began the year with big goals, clear intentions, and a vision for what you wanted to create. Maybe you’ve made tremendous progress. Or perhaps life happened, priorities shifted, and now you’re wondering where the year went.

The middle of the year offers something incredibly valuable: an opportunity to pause and check in.

Not with your to-do list.

Not with everyone else’s expectations.

But with yourself.

Are You Living Your Soul’s Song?

Years ago, I found myself moving through life checking all the boxes I thought I was supposed to check. I was accomplishing things, staying busy, and doing what others expected of me. From the outside, everything looked fine.

Yet inside, something felt off.

I wasn’t truly living. I was surviving.

Many people find themselves in this same place. They spend so much time meeting obligations, fulfilling responsibilities, and taking care of others that they gradually lose connection with their own desires, dreams, and inner wisdom.

This is why my guiding message has become: Live the Song of Your Soul.

Your soul’s song is the unique expression of who you truly are. It is the combination of your gifts, values, passions, purpose, and authentic self. When you are living in alignment with it, life tends to feel more meaningful, energized, and fulfilling—even during challenging seasons.

When you are disconnected from it, you may experience chronic stress, exhaustion, frustration, or a persistent sense that something is missing.

Signs You May Be Living Someone Else’s Expectations

Sometimes misalignment happens so gradually that we don’t recognize it right away. Here are a few signs that it may be time for a reset:

  • You feel exhausted no matter how much you accomplish.
  • You say yes when you want to say no.
  • You spend more time meeting others’ expectations than honoring your own needs.
  • You feel disconnected from activities that once brought you joy.
  • You keep telling yourself, “I’ll be happy when…”
  • You have achieved goals but still feel unfulfilled.
  • You find yourself wondering, “Is this really what I want?”

These experiences are not necessarily signs that something is wrong. Often, they are invitations to reconnect with yourself.

Questions for a Mid-Year Check-In

Take a few moments to reflect on the following questions:

  • What has brought me the most joy so far this year?
  • What has drained my energy?
  • Where am I acting from obligation rather than inspiration?
  • What am I tolerating that no longer serves me?
  • What have I learned about myself in the past six months?
  • What would I like to experience more of during the rest of this year?
  • If I trusted myself completely, what changes would I make?

There are no right or wrong answers. The purpose is simply to create space for honest reflection.

Remember: Alignment Is More Important Than Achievement

Our culture often encourages us to focus on doing more, achieving more, and pushing harder. Yet many people discover that success without alignment can leave them feeling empty.

The goal isn’t to create a perfect life.

The goal is to create a life that feels like your own.

A life where your choices reflect your values.

A life where your schedule supports your well-being.

A life where you feel connected to your purpose.

A life where you can hear—and follow—the song of your soul.

Your Invitation

As you move into the second half of the year, I invite you to ask yourself one simple question:

Am I living from alignment or expectation?

The answer may reveal exactly where your next step lies.

If you’re feeling called to reconnect with yourself, gain clarity, and create greater alignment in your life, consider joining my upcoming Mind Body Spirit Reset.
